We built our modern purpose-built facility in 2022, realizing our dream since starting handmade chocolate creation in 2012. Despite navigating through Covid and lockdown challenges, we persevered.

Our building features a bright retail shop with a viewing window offering customers a glimpse into our kitchen processes. Our chocolate journey began in 2012 when we discovered “Cocoa Black Chocolate & Pastry School” in Peebles, Borders, through a Press & Journal newspaper piece.

Originally seeking a pastry course for our coffee shop, we booked a 2-day pastry masterclass with Ruth Hinks, UK World Chocolate Master. Nervous but enjoying the course, it touched on chocolate making, marking the start of our chocolate journey. Returning to Cocoa Black, we absorbed all Ruth was willing to teach. The rest is history!
